Money

It's said that money makes the world go round. But where does money come from? How is it created? Who controls it? How does it come to be in short supply?

Filmed in Argentina and Turkey as they experienced the worst financial crises in their history, the film traces the origins of the crisis and shows how the structural adjustment programs imposed by the International Monetary Fund devastated these countries' economies. Caught in a spiral of debt, they drained their financial resources.

Yet, currency is the lifeblood of the economy, the engine of exchange. Deprived of liquidity, Argentine citizens thus reinvented money.
